France, Burgundy, Beaujolais-Villages AOC
Thillardon's Beaujolais-Villages has a nose that reveals notes of spice as well as floral notes like peony. The palate is, as one would expect, rich & fruity, though not saturated or sweet, with candied notes coming through. The structure is silky & smooth, though with a little acidity that even gives it a little tarty kick. Imagine something like a refined, higher end version of Beaujolais Nouveau; accessible, but not an overly decadent fruit bomb, it retains the character that has established Beaujolais as holiday mainstay. This Gamay is especially best served chilled.
