Monastrell (Mourvèdre), Tempranillo, Garnacha Tintorera
A name given to Mourvèdre grapes grown in Spain, Monastrell is a big wine with complex & deep flavors. Primarily used in blending, Monastrell stands alone well as a delicious red (which is finely evidenced in the 2010 Terra Grande Monastrell). This wine is a deep garnet color with cherry-brick rim. It has aromas of raspberries, stewed plums, spices, tobacco, & vanilla on the nose. The palate is rich with a delicious, lingering finish.
