From appearances alone – the darker, intense hue of black-cherry red in the glass – the 2013 Grenache makes a statement. The 2013 is a takes a notable page in the Stolpman Grenache saga. 2013 walks the tight-rope between vervy 2012 austerity & voluptuous 2008 monstrosity. This wine has become more one-of-a-kind with each vintage as Stolpman hone their techniques in the vineyard & the winery.
A core of intense, fresh berry fruit dominates the nose, front & middle palate & already couches the firm tannin on the finish. While the wine packs a punch there is also a sense of balance & liveliness.
