Spain, Rías Baixas
Namorio Albariño comes to you from Bodegas Valdamor. The winery's name comes from an ancient Galician tale (Rias Baixas is located in Galicia) about two lovers whose families were enemies. The lovers planted a vine that grew stronger as their love grew, eventually yielding a delicious, golden fruit never seen before. Every since, the villagers have called the valley “Valdamore,” which in Galician means “Valley of Love.” There is good chance you will love this wine.
Coming from one of the most prestigious D.O. regions in Spain, Namorio is one of the finer examples of Albariño we have acquired to date from the D.O. Pale gold color as you would expect, the nose is redolent of peaches & flowers. The 100% fresh palate showcases some lovely peach & melon that are tempered by a nicely balanced minerality. On the whole, dry, medium bodied, crisp, balanced, & oh so satisfying.
