Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, & Negrette
|Region / Appellation||
France, Loire Valley
From the Western Loire Valley appellation of Fiefs Vendeens, this bright and thirst quenching blend of Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, & Negrette is even more fun in the stellar 2015 vintage. You might recognize the somewhat unusual, tubby bottle, with the owl on it. This is because we stock this Mourat’s wonderful, consistently grabbing, singular, quintessential Rosé, as often as possible. This sometimes proves to be difficult, because it is is such a hand crafted, masterful effort, that those who purchase it once, end up buying us out, or at this point, since presumably word has spread about this wine, new customers come searching for it. The reason being that this Rosé seriously delivers, both in providing everything you’d expect from fine, French Rosé, but containing some of the maturity of the varietal in its rouge form, even bringing some of the elements to bear to an impressive extent, seldom seen in Rosé.
With that said, Mourat’s Rosé is pale, light, & dry, & has a nice strawberry & mineral quality to it. It is the perfect summer drinker.
