The freshness & character of Dragonette’s Sauvignon Blanc, in profile, structure, & flavor, gives it a mouth watering, sheer drinkability. However, this is somewhat complicated by the ultra-sensible quality of the wine, that can be savored & even calls you to savor it. Which as I write I realize is a rather Schizoid predicament…For any internal strife I apologize, but I’m confident a bliss will triumph ultimately.
On the nose a predominance of tropical fruit, namely lychee & pineapple, but kiwi as well. These carry over to the palate but intermingle some mango, a peachy essence, & ever so lightly, buttery or perhaps, creamy lemon flavor. With the addition of this broader citrusy quality, what is certainly a lively acidic structure encounters the more palate coating flavors making for a serious treat. Juicy & round, the Dragonette Sauvignon Blanc has a complexity to it that is not easily summed up in any singular fruit. Moreover there is an herbal quality you may sense. That of Thyme & even, here & there, flare ups of Clove. This Medium bodied beauty comes to a close with residual citrus, on the long finish of stone & mineral.
