You've then disappearedfor months and come backpushing a stoller. You've seen us throughthewriters' strike, the actors' strike, two national elections, a historic recession, the fires of 2010, the windstorm of 2011.
LET US SAY 'THANK YOUUUU' BY JOINING US WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH 6-9
For us, celebrating = food and wine and beer. John and I will have some tasty bitesfrom Dave's Chillin and Grillin, Taco Spot and the Oinkster on the offing, as well asdrink specials and giveaways! More updates on Facebook in the near future! Hope to see you there! *** WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Awesome employees do what awesome people do -they move up and on. Butt hey nearly always come back to work a shift or two when needed, and they stay in touch. Some of you have asked what's going onwith them, so here'san update.
Drew Huffine, employee #1: We worked this place for nearly a yea ron our own 60 hours a week until Drew came on board and saved us. Eventually he moved on to work harvests up north and be a'cellar rat' for several wineries in California and New Zealand, finally mentoring under Kent Humphrey at Eric/Kent. He's now head winemaker at Tuck Beckstoffer - making some of the most varietally true, lovelypinots, cabsand blends you've evertasted. He's also engaged to be marriedthis year!
George Stubbs: George brought a touch of his English refinement to Cowineco, devasted us byleaving to be a wine specialist at Bonham and Butterfields, and then delighted us by returning to the fold a few months back.He now applieshis knowledge and passion for food, wine and beer to our sister store Sunset Beer Company most of the time.
Caitlyn Love: Lovely Caitlyn moved to the westside for a pretty sweet job at a museum with her sweet guy named Dan, officially breaking the hearts of a few dozen CoWineCo regulars and two CoWineCo owners.
Drew #2 - Drew Bennett: Drew has been in Thailand and South Korea teaching English and traveling far and wide in between. He is an ardent gay-rights advocate and master of the horror/slasher indie screenplay genre. Look for him in the credits inan arthouse theater near you soon.
Chris Kallmeyer:The undisputed holder of CoWineCo's "Most Fascinating" title, Chris is now crafting incredibly cool, sometimes totally incomprehensible performance art installations for museums via the Machine Project, playing trumpet at venus all over including the Music Box with Devotchka, and composing using amplified sheep. Chris is close to needing a clone for himself, but he still comes back to work at WineCo from time to time.
Tyler Sabbag: Tyler is now a marketing guru still drumming and making music on the side. He comes back to keep his hand in the wine game now and then, always with a fairly shocking new volume of beard.
Mollie Casey:Mollie got a plum job at the Henry Wine Group as a hotel wine sales rep, and is now heading up her own new department as spirits specialist, jetting all over theworld doing 'research', and generally on track to take over the world. *** Happy Coerced AffectionDay! Or, Happy Valentine's day...
Here it comes again folks! Valentine's day! Next Tuesday! When white stuffed bears holding hearts at gas stations will be sold out, when Hershey's will pay its rent for the next year, and when restaurant maitre'ds and boyfriends of women who watch 'the View' will need a Xanax. And it's also when we will be mellow-ly pouring nice wine and serving pretty cheese plates at our no-reservations required candle-lit tables. Need a place to go to start your evening? To finish it? To all of it? We're here for you. We also have pretty wines to go, nice little gifty-bag options, and cards!

OUR ANNUAL ABEJA TASTING IS COMING!!!! Thursday, March 1st.
Winemaker John Abbott will join us once again in our little wine bar to show off his latest releases. Those of you that have made this tasting in past years know that these small production, ridiculously tasty wines are only made better by John's presence. He can talk rings around us and his wines or just hang out and shoot the bull. And in our seven years in business, no one else has been lauded by his colleagues as much as John. Over and over we hear about upstart Washington wineries going to John for advice and help and him selflessly helping them out. Cheers to success and nice people not being mutually exclusive!
Details coming soon... Or grab your spot now! RSVP to: info@cowineco.com *** WINE TASTING SCHEDULE
