Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink

Rose continues to dominate at our store when the weather is toasty.  From the salmon pink stuff in Provence to the ruby colored, spicy roses from Santa Barbara, it's all pretty damn good.  What do you prefer?

Many of you may remember this artist from the previous Monkey show in our store a couple years ago where every single painting sold in a matter of weeks.  We've known the artist for 19 years and would like to selfishly claim that at least part of one or two of these paintings may have been partially inspired by a bottle from our store.  Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, June 6th (details below)

    About the artist:  Alan, 5' 10 1/2" Tall, 193 lbs., Born February 14, 1974

Today 219 years ago, Rhode Island (often referred to as "Rogue Island") became the last of the original states to ratify the Constitution (and the first renounce the British crown).  They were last because among other things, they would not bend on the idea of 'freedom of religion', much to the annoyance of many of our founding fathers.

And how are they doing today?  They light the three rivers that run through Providence on fire once a year and run poetry by local artists on the LED signs of their public buses.  States don't get much cooler than that.

So come on out and cheers Rogue Island with us.

We hope many of you have seen this logo above either in our store, on someone's facebook post or elsewhere, but if you haven't, please read on.  In March of 2009, Cinda Baxter proposed a very simple challenge on her blog, spend a total of $50 at your favorite three local independent establishments each month (read: no chain stores).  Not $50 each, just spend $50 total each month and maybe we can all preserve what makes the main streets in our communities unique.  CLICK HERE to read on...
